Teachers’ Honor Ceremony, Manastirliu Says Support for Teachers Is a Priority

Tirana, March 7 – On Teachers’ Day, the Ministry of Education and Sports held a special ceremony at the Brigades Palace to honor educators who have made important contributions to education. Prime Minister Edi Rama, Minister of Education and Sports Ogerta Manastirliu and Albanian teachers attended the event.

The ceremony began with a beautiful performance of the Teachers’ Hymn by the Artistic Lyceum Choir.
Minister Manastirliu praised teachers’ contributions to society, adding that their work is a lifelong mission that has a lasting impact on the lives of all children.
“You are the role models that students look up to. In their minds, you are the guides to an unknown future. And, as we all know, you hold a place in their hearts that will be irreplaceable for the rest of their lives,” the minister said.
Manastirliu reflected on the problems that the school system has experienced in recent years and acknowledged the extraordinary efforts of teachers who continued to work even during difficult times, such as the earthquake and the pandemic. She also highlighted the changes and investments that have improved the country’s educational infrastructure.
“In the past four years, we have rebuilt more than 180 schools and invested in 450 educational institutions, equipping them with libraries, gymnasiums, sports fields and science laboratories,” Manastirliu said.
The Minister also emphasized the importance of technological improvements in education, highlighting investments in 340 smart labs and training programs for more than 16,000 teachers, enabling them to learn new skills in modern teaching methods and interactive learning environments.
“Dear teachers, you add value to every investment with your dedication and determination to embrace change. “No matter how many new schools we build or how much advanced technology we introduce, nothing would be possible without your extraordinary contribution,” Manastirliu said.
Concluding her statement, the Minister emphasized that supporting teachers is a top priority for the government and stressed the importance of investing in education as the key to a better future for the country.
“No strong nation in history has been built without investing in knowledge, education and teachers,” she said. “They create the future and deserve the best,” said Ogerta Manastirliu, Minister of Education and Sports.
